Noisy morning!

Got up at ten to 6, pulled some stuff on and went out the door. Hike up to the old gravel pit, soon as I get there I hear a gobble from the other side of the woods, towards a small ridge by a field. I get down to a logging trail and walk a little closer, the bird won't stop gobbling! I stand and listen from the othe side of the creek where I know he is, and he's no on the ground gobbling and moving fast parallel to me, going down the creek and heading towards the field and woods where my best archery stand is. I move parallel with him and then after I know exactly where he is, I turn and head back towards home. I swear that bird was following me, he keeps gobbling every 30 seconds to a minute or two apart and he's moving in the direction I'm going, lol. I reach one of our stands and decide to sit in it. This is right in the area where I got that bird to gobble the other night. I sit there, listening to him gobbling, then he pops out in the swamp about 50-75 yards but I can't see his front. He disappears out into the corn field, where I had found those big tracks. Hem oves up the field fairly quick, gobbling the whole way, when I know he's way up there, I get down and sneak to the edge of the field and wait. I crawl on my hands and knees up a little more then finally there he is coming back down the field! Bright red neck, blue head, and a little beard sticking straight out:D:rolleyes: I kinda wondered if it was a jake, being so loud, but I felt so bad, he seemed so lonely! lol:rolleyes:

I don't know if it's the only gobbler here or not..I find it hard to believe those huge tracks I found before would be a jake's... My guess would be there is an older bird with all the hens somewhere?

There isn't usually anyone really hunting here, so Ihope he makes it through youth season an the opener till I get out there on the 3rd:D
