Could be. But my money is ALWAYS much more efficiently spent by me than by the government.

If you don't want yours, Chris...............................................I'll take it. ;):D

True.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't this money be coming off your return of 2008? That's the way it worked last time. Or is this rebate money free and clear?

I'll be Ohio taxes this rebate check btw.:D

From what I understand, this is just an advance on next year's tax return. Fortunately for us, we'll be having a baby this year and even though it doesn't make up for the cost of having another child, our return should be about the same as last year even with the $1500 coming off. I would love to get a donation from the government after years of it being the other way around but this is America and if you work, you pay for others not to. I just consider it an advance and hope I get enough pay from my new career to make up part of the difference.

These checks are a joke...they aren't going to help the economy...nothing can fix it. It WILL fix itself...these checks aren't enough money to do anything to help boost the economy. Most folks I know aren't going out to just spend it...it will go towards bills or thrown in the bank.

Now or later, getting our own money back rather than the government holding it suits me just fine.

A portion of what we are getting will likely be paying for a new American made rifle for myself, and paying for a few things for my wife for her birthday when that bill comes due.:D

Ohio taxing the rebate sounds like something our state would do Chris.
