buckbuster11
you now have Terrell Owens and Pacman Jones on your roster. Gee, bet that doesnt blow up in your face huh? What a ridiculous signing.....what do you guys think? Signing Pacman for 3 years.....you've got to be kidding me right? The Cowboys have signed Adam "Pacman" Jones to a three-year contact with a club option for a fourth season and submitted the documentation to the NFL. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he is confident the league will approve the first trade in NFL history involving a suspended player. The Cowboys structured the contract with incentives in the form of roster bonuses and other financial inducements designed to reward Jones for good behavior and on-field perfomance. Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones acknowledged the NFL Players Association had objected to some elements of their original deal, which according to a team source were related to Jones forgoing $1.25 million in deferred bonus money he earned while playing for the Titans. Jerry Jones indicated the Cowboys would become advocates for Pacman Jones to be reinstated by Commissioner Roger Goodell and perhaps attempt to have his suspension modified so he can work out with his new teammates at Valley Ranch. The Cowboys owner said he does not consider bringing a player arrested six times in three NFL seasons to be unusually risky and noted that one of the reasons Michael Irvin chose to have Jerry Jones introduce him during his enshrinement to the Pro Football Hall of Fame was their work to solve Irvin's legal issues, which also included a suspension from the NFL. Ed Werder covers the NFL for ESPN.
Tominator
I hope they get everything that's coming to them. I hear Ryan Leaf and Mo Clarett are next on Jones' list.
muggs
Actually, Jones did pick up Ryan Leaf after he flamed out in San Diego. btw- don't forget Tank Johnson, John, they picked up that ticking time bomb too. I plan to buy tickets to the Home Opener against these Cowboys. I better pack some heat and wear a bullet-proof vest with these criminals coming to town. Texan_Til_I_Die
It's a far cry from the Tex Schram / Tom Landry days. My loyalties are strained to the breaking point.
craig mack
You guys sound surprised. Did you guys forget about all the shady players they had when they won their last couple superbowls? Jerry Jones doesnt care about a persons character, just their playing ability. I use to be a Cowboys fan until he bought the team and got rid of Landry. I'm a long time Dallas fan but I'm tired of my favorite team trying to rehabilitate drug addicts, criminals, and all the garbage in the NFL! We may as well draft all our players from all the state pens across the country!!!

BowtechTurkeyHunter
I seriously have no idea what the big deal is ... everyone said this exact same thing when Dieon came to Dallas and Jones controlled him and then there was this stir when Owens came over after getting kicked off the Eagles and hes been fine ... now this ... when will ppl learn that Jones does have a way with these guys and he can control them ... Yep I agree I do hope that Dalas gets what they deserve ... the Super Bowl. Steve
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Deion Sanders and T.O. are SAINTS compared to this guy(not the New Orleans ones either ). They bring/brought a distraction in the locker room because of their mouth, and in T.O.'s case, mostly because he is honest and holds nothing back. I think Deion had a little bit of legal troubles, nothing to the extent of what Adam "insert lame nickname here" Jones has had, arrested 6 times and involved in 12 matters requiring police intervention. He's a criminal. With all his legal troubles, he should be kicked out of the league for good. The only good that will come out of this for the Cowboys is if he ISN'T reinstated for this season, that way they can get Tennessee's 4th round draft pick next year. If he is allowed to play this year, I'm guessing it won't be long before he is arrested for something else.

This guy has one of the longest criminal records in the history of the NFL and he's only been in the league like 3 years.
aksheephuntress
..Oh...You Kids!!..lighten up....!-Half of you aren't even old enough to remember who even Tom Landry was-LOL ...I grew up in North Dallas in the 1970's....celebrated every Superbowl with 100 people in my house, several times... ...just wait and see...how this team deals with this thing,as well... BowtechTurkeyHunter
I can give anyone here a list of football players with legal problems ... hes no better or worse then any of the others mentioned Im just saying that he can be compared with the like od Deion and TO when you put it in the context of him being a troublesome player ... they all have there issues believe me ... The rightous Michael Irvin was busted how many times doing cocaine and what happened to him ... I mean the league is full of them so do we kick them all out or just the ones that aren't on the team we want them on. Steve
