Overnight in the stand?

I've never done it, but I remember my uncle talking about waking up at 1:00am one night during Ohio's turkey season. Not being able to fall back asleep, he headed to the turkey woods and was set up where he wanted to be the next morning. Slept against the tree till the gobbles woke him up....

go home get some good rest then get up extra early. I know some people have spots where they can't get into in the morning because of deer using the area and have thought about staying all night, but not for me. If I did I would atleast climb down and sleep on the ground next to the tree.

I've thought about it but never done it. I know of a few places where it would be possible to laydown on the "Tree Condo" floor but it's not necessary where I hunt. Deer might move but if I wanted to get in without them knowing, I'd just walk to the stand. It's only about 150 yds from my buddy's back door and the walk in is down wind of where any deer would be.

-Funny thing was , too, when we woke up the next day, a big brownie had come in and eaten a lot of the bait!!...we saw his tracks and big piles...
