"Archery Multibeard" or "Doc runs like a girl"

Hi Guys:

Connected on a turkey with the bow this past Sunday. What a great morning to be out in the woods in Iowa.

The night before I saw 5 mature toms go to roost and had a blind set up in that area. The next morning I was in the Double Bull blind by 5 am. Eight mature toms flew down into the field at 300 yards. I watched them for 2 1/2 hours before they finally made thier way to my blind.

During that time there were also 2 jakes and about 8 hens. A bearded hen (6 inch beard) walked 10 yards from the blind before the toms. It took all that I had not to pull back on that hen (don't have on of those on the wall yet).

I also saw, during that time, turkeys chasing turkeys, deer chasing deer, turkeys chasing deer, and deer chasing (herding) turkeys... video of this sight soon to come.

I captured 50 minutes of this on video including the kill shot. I videotape all of my hunts, however, this is the first time that I have uploaded to the web. The texture is a little less then the original, however, I hope that you enjoy.

Note: the first hen that walks by the blind is the bearded hen.

Note: I always get to the bird fast so as not to lose him. My story is that my legs were cramped from being in the blind for 3+ hours so that's why I run like a girl (that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!)

He flew about 100 yards and then piled up in the plowed field. Autopsy revealed that he died of a severed aorted via sharp pointy object (broadhead).

Bird was 19 pounds, 1 inch spurs and had two beards (10 1/2 and 4 3/4). The shot was 10 yards even though the camera makes it look further. Camera was on a tripod. Birds are dark because of the sunlight in the camera.

Good luck to all

WOW

What can I say . Thanks for showing us your hunt. I really enjoyed watching all those birds go by. I hope someday I can see birds like that. I also have to admit that it is funny to see you chasing that bird. Did he run far?
