wtnhunt
Seems an unusual time for them to be moving around. Just popped this one about 20 minutes ago at about 10:20 a.m. The temp here right now is in the low 70's. UPS just dropped off a package not 10 minutes before I noticed this yote back here. I walked by the kitchen window and saw something moving at the bottom of the hill. Looked closer and saw it was a yote. Guess I have been trying to hunt yotes at the wrong times. Grabbed my AR out of the cabinet, bumped the magazine in and chambered a round, then slowly opened the sliding glass door, and rested the rifle on my freehand held up tight to the door. The yote looked up towards the house when I took the safety off and it was headed towards the woods when I squeezed my shot. It dropped on the spot, this makes the 4th male yote I have killed with the AR since last summer. Have yet to kill a female though.

Probably a good thing the ups man came by when he did. I probably would have missed seeing this yote when I did, possibly all together if it had not been for the timing. Where I saw this yote in the backyard is only about 75 yards or so away from our side pasture where we have some calves, only about 95-100 yards behind the house. Bachflock
Well done! I heard a bunch turkey hunting but never saw one. I was ready, though. LOL He is pretty lean looking, even for a coyote.
wtnhunt
Well done! I heard a bunch turkey hunting but never saw one. I was ready, though. LOL He is pretty lean looking, even for a coyote. Guessing he weighed around 45 lbs, actually looked fairly healthy to me when I dragged him in the tractor bucket to dispose of him. Have seen bigger yotes here, think that one was a younger adult male. The two previous males I killed over the winter were a little bigger. Here is one from back at the end of January.
