fly
Well for years I've been telling the family NO regarding another dog. We have a beagle and our house/yard is fairly small. In addition I end up doing a lot of the work cleaning / feeding / etc... The puppy and finace' thread from a couple days ago has been eating at me. Well 2 days ago we go to my fathers house to see his new lab puppies. He has a chocolate female and the father is the neighbors yellow lab. There are 7 in all (2 black and 5 chocolate). No yellow:confused: Anyway we argued all the way to my dads (me against getting a new puppy and the rest of my crew wanting one). Well I layed down the law alright. Got mad, said by God there was no way we were getting one so on and so forth. One look at them puppies and I caved like coal mine in an earthquake. Now to decide on which one. Which would you all pick? Male/female/black/chocolate? I'll get some pictures posted soon. >Frank

QDMAworks4me
I would say black male, I had a black male named Ace and what a dog, everyone loved him, he passed about 4 years ago and people still say how much they loved him. People I havent seen in years will see me and it always comes up if Ace is still around. I have a another black male now named Duce and he reminds me so much of Ace that it is hard not to want to call him Ace sometimes. He is one of the most loyal and care free dogs ever. I bought him at a QDMA banquet when he was only 8 weeks old or so and with 75 people there he acted like like he didnt have a care in the world, he acted like well manared 10 year old dog at only 8 weeks. I could write reason after reason but I think you will be happy with which ever you choose, you have to post pics when you get your new family member!! stevebeilgard
good advice from wyo hunter. i generally like the runt of the litter. they are the strongest, and hardest fighter. heck, they had to be, or die.
bluelund79
I am jealous, the past 2 in the family have been females, 1 chocolate (Tasha), and 1 black (Hemi). Both have had the greatest dispositions, and I am just starting to get over losing tasha to cancer while I was in Iraq. Whichever pup you get, you'll know which is the one!!!! Dads pup (Hemi) is one of the best hunters we have had so far! I just starting looking as well....Good luck in your pick!
aksheephuntress
...Wow...this is great,Flyera!!...You and your family are going to love this time... -I, personally , would get a chocolate female...(always think that a black lab can resemble , at first glance, a black bear...and I think that female dogs can be more loyal)-but, yes...I agree with a lot of comments here- You will KNOW the right pup, when you see him..and most likely, your kids will end up picking it out, anyway!-LOL -and I always liked a name that would carry, well, above the wind!(whether for dog...or, kid-)
