Turkeygirl
So I'm trying to decide where to go tomorrow morning. I am going out about 6:30/7pm tonight and sitting where I can hopefully hear birds roost. If I don't, my 2 options are set up by the corn field where I saw that one jake one morning, but have seen them in the evening there a few times. this is the field the farmer spread his manure in also. My 2nd spot is way up in...a hardwoods ridge where I found a bunch of old and fresh scratching, old gobbler poop and fresh hen poop, scratching/poop in the field, and the field was just turned over, so I'm thinking of setting up in there somewhere. This is where it sounded like that gobbler was gobbling from. what do you guys think...which spot should I go in the morning if I don't roost anything tonight? I'm leaning towards the ridge/plowed field We are suppose to get rain/thunderstorms tonight also...should be done by the AM.
ccwhitey
If its raining definitely the field, but otherwise I would lean toward the woods. I've talked to a couple of buddies up here and they said that they are finding the birds more in the woods that the fields. It's also been really windy up here the past couple of days so that might affected them a little bit.
