Guest sharpspur
Re: Best of the Best Turkey calls? I have this slight problem about laying things down and leaving them there. I get mad at myself enough for losing a $20 call. That is why I stick with those.

Rhino
Re: Best of the Best Turkey calls? It depends on the area and the mood of the birds. A slate call usually works better on the property where I do most of my hunting at home. Which one depends on the mood of a particular gobbler on that particular day. I've also had good success with a diaphram call too and very limited success with a box call on my home turf. There have been other places and other states that I've hunted where the gobblers wouldn't even answer one of my slate calls. For example, where I hunted in New Mexico if you didn't use a box call, you didn't get much action. Don't fall in love with one call and be open to experiment with different calls from time to time. Sometimes changing calls can make the difference in bagging a gobbler or not. All in all the best of the best turkey calls is the one the gobbler gets fired up at on that day. The next day it could be different call.
