*Camo_Girl*
Hey y'all. I'm wanting to start up fishing, but I don't know of any good rods/reels. What are some good ones? I wanted to buy a rod/reel combo. I'll probably just be catching small/medium sized fish. Any tips would be great, too. Thanks! -CG:cool:
total disaster
I would say a nice med/light action rod I am not too sure on what combo set but i would suggest shimano ....I have a bunch of their gear and haven't been let down yet...me and Alisha have been talking about rods and reels for long time as I am used to fishing smallmouth and her trout and she has just got a cabelas med/light rod and she loves that as far as I know
Shaun_300
Yeah the Shimano rods and reels are great! I'd reccommend a 6' or 6'6". For a reel, definetly go with a Shimano 2000, I've had really good luck with them. Best of luck, have fun!
DU_man_84
recommend a 6' rod, for a beginner a 6'6'' is gonna be to much, you better off starting with the shorter rod, i dont buy combos i always make my own, depending on what ya want to spend you could go with like a st. croix, or just for a begginer i recommend berkley lighting rods, good rods, great begginer rod and affordable only 30 bucks, as for reals i always suggest abu garcias, with a setup with the 6' rod id go with a garcia cardinal 301 reel, depending on where ya get it anywhere from 35-35 bucks
