The_Kat
I ordered a set of golf clubs that I won for free from work and recieved them in this past week. So I thought it'd be fun to go golfing and give it a try. After my first two outtings I shot a 91 and an 88....ITS SO HARD! I now have a new respect for the boys and gals who shoot par let alone under par. I kept slicing so bad it wasn't even funny. Thankfully the course was mostly doglegs to the right lol! muggs
Those aren't bad scores for your first two rounds at all man. My three biggest tips would be 1) take a lesson, it will pay for it's self in no time 2) just have fun and don't get frustrated and most importantly 3) disregard any tips from Kevin. The_Kat
Ya I think it's beginners luck cause I'd put my first shot on the green on a par three and have to put 5 times to make it in lol. I chipped one in last night to save par....which I was proud of. I have to admit also that those scores aren't completely legit cause I'd rehit a ball of the tee if I shanked it real bad. So I'd say I'm prolly around the 110's lol
muggs
Well...even 110 isn't bad for a beginner. It's a lot of fun once you get into it. Free clubs are hard to beat too.
MCH
Don't worry much about scoring until you can stop taking mulligans. I know when I first started I was carding 90's and when I stopped taking mulligan's I was still in the 90's.:D You're gonna have to come on down and play the country club with me. It's a beautiful course and pretty dang challenging, if you ask me.
Guest johnmusic88
Golf is one of the hardest sports I've ever played. Even after practicing for over a couple of months its tough!
Guest Finn
Cool...what kind of clubs did you win? I agree with the lessons deal....would have saved mucho trial and error for me!!! Maybe you can get 5 or so and get you started on the right track. Can save many rounds of frustration. Good scores for your first time out....mulligans are your friend

Shaun_300
Those are great scores for first rounds! I remember my very first round on a course when I was 15 or so I shot a 115. I just really got into it the past couple years. My best score so far was 77 late last year, but as long as I'm in the mid 80s I'm happy. I hope to break 75 by the end of the year. Golf is a very fun sport!
The_Kat
The are John Dalys....I like em pretty good, but I honestly couldn't tell ya if they are good or not cause I haven't swung anything else lol.

hutchies
Not bad.............I play about once every year or 2. Used to play more and was a high 80's low 90's.........Now I'm probably back to a 110. Only one piece of advice I can give. Don't try to crush the ball just try to keep it in the middle of the fairway.
jbeck
John Daleys aren't a bad club Kyle, I really don't think any of the modern equipment is to bad. Have fun with this game, it doesn't matter how good you play they never give money back, or take more from you if you play bad. Jeff
Tominator
Golfing is fun with a buddy, especially if you beat your buddy.
