Where to look?

Look in bedding areas, around the edges of fields where they like to bed and look out. Also, fence or creek crossings, around a pond or watering hole are good places to look. And sometimes, you just get lucky. You have to spend a lot of hours in the timber to find sheds. I didn't really start finding any until this year. I've found 1 shed, and 2 skulls this year, counting the skulls, that's 4 sheds. Before this year, i'd found about 2 in 10 or 11 years of being in the timber. The sheds will come, just spend a lot of time in the woods from about the 2nd week of March until late April.

Also, carry a good set of compact binoculars, they will save you a lot of walking ;)

Good luck to you man!!!!!:D

first off make sure thye are there in the spring, just becouse they are there during huning season does not mean theya re in the same areas in spring, then check bedding and feeding areas and all inbetween, be slow and constantly look around, it takes soem time but look for anythign that looks out of the ordinarry, I seem to look for anything curved, lots I see something out of the ordinarry 100 yards away and look and its a curved branch or thistle, what really gets my attention is curved things, prctice throwing sheds in brush and serching for them, it takes a lot of time and practice to pick them up but it comes, I nearly stepped on one last weekend on bare ground, blended in so good, this year is tough, I am finding about 1 every mile or so with the mild winter and spring , they do not shed in there feeding grounds as much, in thicker stuff, I got abotu 60 but am sure I walked way more than 60 miles so far!

good luck!!
