First bird called in.

Man, I got a new girlfriend who decided that she wanted to try turkey hunting, (her uncles and grandparents have about 2,200 acres of farm land TONS of birds) last year i started hunting turkeys and shot a spring and a fall but both just kind of walked in on me. well we had been hunting all morning and just got back out after lunch and struck up a bird threw some woods. we set up on the edge of a field and stated callin, the bird stated running to us, he closed a 150 yard distance in 5 minuest and crested the rise of the farm field in full strut, I soft clucked and purred and got him with in 15 yards. my girl's hear was beating hard but not nearly as hard as mine she was sitting with me and leaning on my right sholder. we had it worked out when he was in range i would whisper wait, wait, wait, and when he was in range and she could shoot i would whisper, now, now, now, now. and if he got out of shooting position i would say wait again. Well he came in and was in full strut i clucked once or twice and said wait wait wait wait wait wait he finally stretched out his neck at 15 yards and i gave her the now command and she took the shot and just missed by about 3 inches or so. The bird took off but she got a chance to see a bird and shoot and i think she is hooked and will keep it up , friday, saturday and part of sunday we are going to try it again. and i know i love to call in birds and will keep trying for her and my self.

Yes sounds just like my adventure in this new hunt. Except I had my son shoot and yes he missed. But we still had fun and yes we are hooked too. Enjoy the rest of your hunt and good luck.
