Guest benelli_man_84
How many of yall in the South hunt geese over fields? I was just wondering b/c me and some friends are gonna be hunting fields this year due to some friendships I ahve made with some farmers who want the geese out of their crop fields. Most goose hunters in the south may not realize this, but peanut and corn fields are big goose magnets. Yall might wanna see if you can hook up pwith some farmers. huntn4bucks
Re: Southern Goose Hunters I would say 90% of our goose hunting is done over fields...especially the early season.

Covehnter
Re: Southern Goose Hunters Yeah alot of our goose hunting is over corn fields, especially early season. If you wanna swap some hunts next year keep in touch, we've usually got plenty of corn . . . if its cut in time for the early season. Covehnter
Re: Southern Goose Hunters Huntn4, been back to the river any more lately? Spent a little time there over xmas but knocking 2 holes in the boat put a stop to most of our planned trips. Not near the numbers of Cans this year.. . . . . . huntn4bucks
Re: Southern Goose Hunters Cove, I've been back several times since the last time I spoke with you and the ducks have been real inconsistant. What happened to the boat? My brother called me earlier this week and said that he found some Cans...I guess he'll be going after them this weekend. I've about had my fill of below average duck hunting this year so I guess I'll just go deer hunting. I'll probably get out there a few more times and duck hunt before the season is over...if anything to just work my dog. Best of luck and give me a call if you make it back to hunt. Guest benelli_man_84
Re: Southern Goose Hunters Hey Cove and huntn4, Yall stay in touch over the summer with me. If yall wanna trade out hunts, that is fine with me. I have myself a goose chair blind now, and I will have me some full body decoys by next year. I have been using my Herters floating goose decoys with some borrowed full bodies on the fields and it has been good on some mornings. I am pass shooting woodies in the morning. The geese are really decoy shy right now. They have been shot to **** and back this year. There have been about 8 or 9 boats hunting lake eufaula this year and we all have gotten some geese. I got 15 this year.
