Guest ******
I mounted the first mulie I got with my bow, scored 138 3/8. Did a euro mount on it. Looked awsome with dark black antlers. Next one I do will have to be larger than 156 7/8. It has got to be bigger than my hunting partners. A little competition never hurt anyone. yooperkenny
To me it's more about the memories of the hunt, including who you were with and where it happened. If it's your first buck, you may want to mount it no matter how big or small it is. Here's a link to a thread where a bunch of deer hunters, including myself, talk about the same thing - Hope you enjoy and good luck this fall! http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/showthread.php?t=164154
texas8point
I dont think its about the size of the buck. Its the hunt itself. your 1st buck, who your with, where your at, had a great time.......My first buck was a 7pt I killed with a good friend of mine. I didnt mount the buck, and since that time I have wished I would have 1000 times, and recently the buddy that was with me in the stand when I shot it, died......and that just makes the wish even more I woulda mounted it. Its what the buck means to you
Guest T/C Scott
buck If it is your first buck then mount it. If its big enough for you to shoot then its big enough for you to mount. Goodluck.
LifeNRA
gobblerroller said: I'm going to drop my first buck this season. What is basically the lowest number of points that people mount? First buck ever? If so, then whatever you get might qualify for a mount! You never forget your first buck! If I was thinking about getting one mounted now, it would have to be bigger than the eight pointer hanging now.
Stinger-Hunter
At least small enough to hold it down while mounting.
