Recession?

Do you feel like we are in a recession or near recession?

If so do you see the country bouncing out of it? When?

-OR-

Do you think the recession will continue to get worse and possibly lead to another depression?

I ask this because I'm wondering if I need to re-think my investments.

Everything, I mean EVERYTHING, goes in cycles! Nothing can keep going up or down forever!

Just roll with the punches and in time, it will turn around.

Don't watch too much TV and all the "wonderful" different programs about how smart the people on them are. If they were so great, they would all be billionaires!

The GDP grew during the last quarter, the stock market is up and unemployment dropped. Doesn't sound like much of a recession to me.

But keep in mind that there's an election coming up and the MSM wants to see a party change in the Whitehouse, so expect to see plenty of coverage highlighting individuals suffering.

Good reply. The media would like for people to think we are in or headed into a recession.

Technically, the economy grew by 6 tenths of a percent last quarter, so technically, the economy is not in a recession.

As far as investments, I'd stay away from gold, but long term it's a good time to be buying stock.

Stocks are currently on sale! Buy Buy Buy

"Recession" is not a feelling. It has a specific economic definition which has not yet been met.

A recession is 2 consecutive quarters of negative real economic growth or decline in real GDP. Actually, the last round of economic indicators (unemployment & consumer spending) out of Washington were trending upward. But the current price of crude is a big anchor for an economy to drag. :(
