Help me out on this one!

Recommended Posts

alright ive got a 460 SW that ive decided too hang on to, anyway heres the question. It will shoot 45, 454, 460; ive got some Buffalo Bore 45LC 325 gr that i was shooting. Ive got my 460's shooting lights out at about 75 yards, im talkin 1-2 inch groups, but when i shoot the 45LC they shoot like 20 inches high great groups but high. The 45's are moving conciderably slower that the 460's but they shoot high.

Is this something that can be explained that i just dont know about, help me understand this.

thanks

shane

The lower velocity means the bullet stays in the barrel longer, giving more time for the muzzle to rise in recoil before the bullet leaves the muzzle. It HAS to go high. Completely normal in that situation.

You have to adjust your sights, or modify your aiming point, to hit with that load. Or, you must increase the velocity to hit where your sights are currently set.

makes perfect scince, and the encore has a 15 inch barrel, thats more than enough barrel time.

thanks
