Getting the itch!

Fellas...I was out riding around on my new Yamaha Grizzly 660 this weekend in the later evenings. I came up through the lane that parallels my food plot and saw a nice deer...with about 4-6 inches of velvet beams!

A little later...I drove past my neighbors and saw another young buck coming up out of the hollow with some initial antler growth as well.

I am starting to get the "itch" already!!! :):D:):D

  • 2 weeks later...

There are two season, hunting season and getting ready for hunting. I spend the off season thinking, reading, plotting, tweaking, buying new stuff, checking the camera, shooting my Delta 3-D target in the backyard. Just kind of tinkering some days with my gear, staying organized, etc. It's more like a year round hobby and the season is the cream in the coffee!! Turkey season and flyfishing, spending time with the family and work around the house keeps me busy until the season starts!

I have been seeing deer every night...can't wait to start seeing some big boys in velvet!

In about 2 more months, I start becoming various retailers best friend! As soon as all the new DVD's from the various Pro Staffs come out (Realtree, Drury's, Primos, Knight & Hale, etc.) I buy them all up and start to hone in. I already know I am going to buy a new Bushnell Range finder with ARC. Already got new carbon suits.

I need a quility trail camera as well. Only with this piece of equipment, I have not been quick to buy. I know that the various products will only get better. Looking for a good buy.
