Randyman
Just got an e-mail telling me there was a problem with my paypal account and that my account was frozen. There was a link to click on to provide some information about my account so i could get it "unfrozen". The problem is, i don't have a paypal account and never have had one. I suspect someone was doing a little "phishing" in hopes of stealing information. Those of you with paypal accounts beware!

They have PayPal scams, Ebay scams, Bank scams from every bank known to mankind, Lottery scams, and get rich quick scams, from the Nigeria type ones to who knows what's next ones. I get them all. I get approx. 4 different scams per day, and am used to it now...LOL Now that you're starting to get them, expect more

texastrophies
I get those occaisionally. Normally, I will exit out of my email, then log into paypal directly through my normal route, just to check it out, then delete the email. On another note, over the weekend, I had someone steal my debit card number and make a couple of purchases with it. The odd thing is, one purchase was for around $26 and the other one was less than $4. Who would risk doing something like that, and then not making it worth their while. Luckily, my bank alerted me, on Sunday, that something didn't look right, I agreed with them, and they shut that card down, and will be refunding me the money. BTW, the card was in my wallet, and no one had access to it.
stevebeilgard
thanks for the warning, randy. that scam has been running for years. NEVER click on their link. just go to ebay, or paypal, or wherever on your own. it's almost always a scam. now, if you actually think you won a lottery you never entered, just follow the link and do what they say. you weren't meant to have anything in life, anyway. lol

I have heard that sometimes a person will attempt those small transactions first in hopes no one will catch them.....Once those work then they go crazy:rolleyes::eek: Glad your bank caught it before anything bad could happen:o
Texan_Til_I_Die
Something else to watch out for is the "fake buyer" scam. If you list something for sale online and include your email address, there's a good chance you may be contacted by a scammer with a quick offer to buy. Usually they'll send you a forged money order or something similar, wait for you to deposit it, then change their mind about the purchase and ask for a refund. You, being the nice person you are, send them their money back with a real check or money order, and then find out a week later that the original payment to you was no good.
