Re: Yes or No?

No!!!!!

And for those people that voted yes, don't even think about setting up near a corn, bean, or wheat field planted by some farmer. Don't set up on the field and don't put a stand on any trail leading to it!!!!!! Matter of fact don't even hunt the bedding areas near these places because from what some are saying anything planted in a field is considered "bait". So I guess you'd also be unethical for hunting on or near a food source not naturally grown by nature itself.

Re: Yes or No?

While this may or may not be your way of hunting. Or in your mind "ethical". But see past this issue and look at this part of the original question:

[ QUOTE ]

You are in the booth voting this fall. One question on the Ballot is: Do you support a ban on the use of food plots and food type, non agricultural baits while hunting deer?

[/ QUOTE ]

In other words......a general election where game management options are being left to ALL VOTERS. Most of whom do not hunt. Give them an inch...and they take a mile. In following elections referendoms it could very well read "should we allow hunting in our state".

Based upon that ...I just do no see how you could vote yes.

Re: Yes or No?

Ha!....Good point. That one flew right over my head. We had better make sure that game management decisions are never made in this fashion, or we are all in big trouble.

But actually I believe that this happened out in California didn't it? Weren't they able to get some bear hunt or something on the general ballot and the bear hunt got shot down?

Re: Yes or No?

oldoregon, if all it takes is a slight walk of 10 miles to get a book whitetail(after all, they grow off of the trees up there), I guess you'd just be too worn out to carry a treestand that far. I have walked farther than that around here, and was lucky to see a few deer. 170 class bucks don't grow off of trees around here, we have to hunt for them! I say, if you can plant a food crop(baiting, unless you're a farmer), then it's ok to bait them with a pile .
