wtnhunt
Since the post about the kids was posted, kind of got me a little curious how many people here have had to take their eyes off the road to deal with kids who either fight with each other or take off their seat belts or whatever reason while driving down the road at highway speeds? Can answer the poll, yes or no.
bluelund79
Yep, my 3.5 year old is good for the seatbelt everynow and again. Not fun having to get to the shoulder and get him strapped back in. Wish there was a seatbelt lock like the window locks!!!! Working on number 2, so fighting hasn't been an issue-YET. Eric
Guest Finn
I had the ability to reach back and smack em without turning my head. They're 15 and 17 now, so for many years have just been able to raise my voice.
Guest Andrea
My boys are 11 and 15, so I haven't had to beat tail from the front seat for a while now. And one of them is usually in the front with me anyway.
OJR
That happened so many years ago, I have forgotten what I did! LOL!!!

HuntnMa
The rear view mirror was all i needed ....just like when driving, a glance and i'm done, if i had to handle things, they would be handled after i was stopped, either at the next light or when i pulled over......but they never got out of the car seats...it was usally arguing and i don't need to look behind me to know what they were doing, everyone heard it, lol.... stevebeilgard
i still do reach back and smack them. and they're 28 & 31 now... lol. what i used to tell them is that if i have to stop and spank them, i will make it worth my time. my kids always knew when i was serious, and i never had to stop. and they knew it would hurt if i did have to. Norm Sauceman
When my children were younger and something was going on in the back seat I would pull over and take care of it but I would never take my attention off of the road until I was in a position of safety to do so. There would be nothing I could do anyway until I had pulled off in any way.
buckee
I answered no, only because I wasn't given the choice to pull over to the side of the road, and deal with the kids. If there is another adult in the vehicle, it would be their responsibility to deal with the kids, and let me do the safe driving.
dogdoc
i will say that I have been guilty of turning my attention to the kids at time---90% of the time it's because they are fighting. Most to the time I just yell at them to cut it out but occasionally I have turned around to see what's going on.
nativetexan
I used to have these problems and was constantly pulling over to buckle in my 3 year old. So when we bought our new car, I paid extra for the rear seat DVD with wireless headsets which keeps them both planted and off of my nerves and each others. Additionally, I paid extra for the built in phone feature for my wife who had Cell Phone Attached to Her Head disorder.
