Turkeygirl
Will say a prayer! Keep us posted! We ended this semester learning about the GI system....both problems you mentioned are very treatable if she happens to have either one...painful but common, and she should recover fine. Swamphunter
Dr ruled out kidneys!.. She had a test done yesterday and the guy that watches the ultrasound came out of a room and asked the woman performing it "did you see that"? The woman responded "Yes, I did". My wife asked her what and off course she can't say anything until it is read, but then went into several questions about her kidneys, and whether or not she or any other of her family members had kidney problems and if she has problems urinating. This was as 8am....a mere 9 hrs later the doctor told her that her kidneys showed some "spongelike material" but that was not a real issue and although may give her problems in the future....was not the source of her pain. He did say that she did have an infection in her intestines and as soon as it was under control enough that she did not require pain medication, he would send her home. This made her very happy as she misses the kids and being at home. The only bad news is I called up there to say goodnight to her last night and the nurse got on the phone and said she was very nauseated and I would have to call back later. After a bit when I got Dawn on the phone, she was really groggy and said they gave her more pain medication, but she had never asked for it. They put it in her IV when she was dry heaving to try and help her feel better, and although she did feel a bit better at this time, now had to stay another day because of the doctor telling her she had to stay pain med free for 24 hrs before they could send her home.... Thanks everyone for the prayers...I'm sure they are helping her. It helps me cope knowing you are all in my corner, but man I miss her.... QDMAworks4me
Hey Ken, I was just in the hospital with the same symptoms, unbearable pain and very sick to my stomach. Is it possible that she has diverticulitis? I have been diagnosed with that, and have been treated four different medications, two antibiotocs and two pain killers. It was last saturday and I still have pain in my abdomen, but it is much better and until thursday or so I was still very sick to my stomach but that seems to have passed for the most part. Maybe this will help. Well I hope that she gets better and feels better soon!!

Not sure if the diverticulitis would show on those tests or not. We almost went back to the hospital around 5pm because of almost unbearable pain...but she stuck it out and feels a bit better now. Wait and see what the next 24 hrs brings.
