Velvet bucks & pregnant doe

Recommended Posts

Well.. It's that time of the year again and my trail cam is out in the woods. I've been seeing a bunch of bucks and figured I'd put the camera out. Personally, I've seen 5 different bucks, two of which are gonna be huge. Here's some pics from last night.

Check out the one bucks right antler base. He's gonna have a sticker off it, under his brow tine. Very cool. But he looks like a young buck so we'll have to see how he turns out at the end of the summer.

Then I got this pregnant doe on cam yesterday evening:

And now this buck is only moving after daylight. He came around at 10:20pm or so. He isn't the big buck thats around, he's second in rank. The big guy already has browtines and sweeping main beams. And this is when I saw him a few weeks ago. Haven't seen him since.

But here's the smaller of the two big bucks:

...I've never seen anything like this before!

Come on...You live in wildlife paradise.

This is a suburban backyard wood lot 40 miles north of NYC.

:)....No!....I'm being serious!...I've never seen deer that up close...-especially with the bucks' antlers just budding out like that....

-and the Trail-Cam thing is something new to me...I really enjoy seeing all the awesome footage from everyones' trail cams...

-It has been 15 years since I have seen a deer...(I've never gone hunting for the Black Tail deer up here)...and I've never seen them like this, up close...(except when they ran right past me, in a blur, in Indiana...:D)

....You live in awesome country as well, Adam5...I have a lot of relatives in Massachusetts, and I was born in New Jersey....(Shhhh- don't tell anyone...):);)-I was 6 when we left there...I'll never forget the Pine Barrens...

-Congradulations again on your beaver hide!
