Adjam5
I guess Trapping falls in this thread... I trapped a nice 40-45lb beaver last December and I just got the hide back from www.Brandonwildlifestudio.com in Ft Towson ,OK Shiela out there took real nice care of the hide and did a marvelous job. They are highly recommended. This hide is going up on the wall of the hunting cabin:). Here is the pic of the finished product. Sooo soft! I tanned : 1 possum 2 mink 2 beavers 6 racoons for around $30 Plus my time.. I got tired of paying through the nose and learned how to do it myself.. Like i said whoever tanned did a wonderful job, but by learning to do it yourself you could have saved yourself a lot of money..j.m.h.o. The hide was actually $80 to tan and the other $20 was for s&h. I would love to tan my own stuff, but I have neither the time or space to do such. Soo...out the yin yang my money goes on hides like this:rolleyes:. This was also tanned out of season. It was in the freezer for a while and the wife was yelling to get it out:D. This is for decoration on the hunting cabin wall.

(I used to) I don't blame you a bit..... -Again, nice pelt!
Adjam5
Thanks for the comments. My 6 and 4 year old nephews came up to the hunting cabin this weekend with my Brother and they would not leave that beaver hide alone...They kept rubbing it on their face loving the softness of it. I could only imagine how soft Beaver coats (back in the day) must've felt. I am looking forward to this coming trapping season.
