cutting arrows

i got some gold tip arrows at cabelas and i wanted to cut them to size somebody told me to use a hac saw would that work or would it ruin the arrow

hack saw, you will hack them up,,take them to a bow shop..why didn't cabela, cut them for you?

If I am not mistaken,all carbon arrow manufacturers insist in useing a high speed cut off saw so it doesnt splinter the carbon.

I just tried the hacksaw on an old broke carbon arrow. Don't attempt that little task.

Never attempt to use a hack saw...........High speed cut off saw is the only way. If you split any of the carbon fibers the arrows will blow up and you will be spending big $$$$ on a hospital bill.

A high-speed arrow saw is the ONLY safe way to go, unless you like the idea of this..... I'd stick to the "recommended" saw!!!!!

I shoot Cabela's Arrows (see sig. line), and I call the store directly, and request my arrows cut at 29.5" and have them mailed to me from the store, rather than the catalog warehouse. That way I get what I want, and as expensive as fuel is, I don't get to make many trips to Cabela's anymore and feel like I've really come out ahead. Next time, if you order from them, call a store and talk to the people in the pro shop, and get the arrows as you want them, even fletched how you wish in many cases.
