Re: Spring snow goose hunting

I haven't yet, but I'd like to give it a try sometime. The biggest problem is that the spring migration is so brief that you have to have location and timing in order to get a chance at a decent hunt. It really helps if you have "spotters" in the area you want to hunt so they can call you when the birds are there. It's one of those seasons where you need to be ready to drop things at a moments notice and get out there before the birds bug out.

I have been out. It is really a hit or miss thing. Either you are going to get a bunch, or nothing!

In North dakota most people spring hunt by driving around & finding the feeding flocks, then sneaking up & jumping them. The birds really get spooky, take off as soon as a vehicle slows down.

We don't go anymore because we didn't have that much fun.

I would give my left nut to be able to go on a spring snow goose hunt one day. A friend of mine in texas goes every year and always tells me it is awesome
