Guest DJR
Last week I snapped 2 into a 3D target for the price I'm mad as can be, So here I come Gold Tip How many here shoot them??? any news good or bad???
Chrud
Re: Im done with the Axis Good to hear. Do you think the Axis arrows were over-hyped last year? I believe they were. You'll get a charge out of this. For less than the Axis arrows, you can get a dozen Gold Tip Pro Hunters, which have tolerances that are A LOT better and more consistent than Axis. GT Pro's are +-0.001" and +- 1 grain per dozen. Axis are +-0.003" and +-2 grains/dozen I believe.
buckee
Re: Im done with the Axis I shoot gold tips. No complaints here Sounds like your making a wise choice. Those axis arrows sound like an accident just waiting to happen.
Chrud
Re: Im done with the Axis [ QUOTE ] (i like pro hunters for piece of mind)...... [/ QUOTE ] I like 'em because the logo on them is yellow (not green like the XT's) and I use a yellow wrap and yella vanes.
Washi
Re: Im done with the Axis I like my Gold Tips. They are at least as good as my Carbon Express CX300's and a lot cheaper.
Guest 2500HD
Re: Im done with the Axis A couple pass throughs on deer, a coyote, 4 misses on deer with one burried in the ground, one direct hit into a rock from 30' up and two burried in trees, several huntred shots into a broadhead target and not a problem. I only have 6 arrows so all of these have had their share of bad shots. So far so good for me.
Guest DJR
Re: Im done with the Axis well I went eith the XT to see if I like them , then maybe the Pro Hunters
Tony
Re: Im done with the Axis yep they were way over hyped.. i saw it coming.. i mean when you see an arrow that is only .005 straightness tolerance and they are just as expensive as Goldtip 5575 XT 22 series pros .. but the Goldtips are .001 straightness it wasnt to hard for me to decide not to try the axis arrows.. i shoot Easton 2613s for indoor target , Easton 3-28 Accs for field and some 3D and Goldtips for hunting... i really like the Eastons i shoot but , now that Goldtip has contingency money for even the ametuer class of competition im going to switch completely to Goldtips for everything starting this spring for 3D.... sorry Easton but you guys need to wake up... Switchback29A1
Re: Im done with the Axis I think it's just the Axis arrows that you guys don't like from easton. A few of my friends say there flying noticibly faster than ICS 400's or Epics. No i'm not switching to the Axis and love my epics but maybe there not as bad as everyone is saying, or these things are only isolated problems JMO. Chrud
Re: Im done with the Axis They are A LOT heavier than ICS's or Epics. So, no, they aren't faster. In fact, they are more than likely a lot slower.

[/ QUOTE ] The Axis arrow were night and day better than the ICS 400's I was shooting. So far the Axis have been one of the best hunting arrows I have used to date. They are by far the toughest! .001", .003", .005" straightness doesn't mean that much to me if I'm popping a 1/2" dots at 10, 20, 30 and 40 yards. At $50 per 1/2 doz they are not that bad of deal. I have bought several arrows that were alot more that didn't even compare to them. I know a lot of people shooting them and they are not as bad as people are making them seem. NYBUCK
Re: Im done with the Axis 2500HD I HAVE TO AGREE WITH YOU. THE AXIS ARE ONE OF THE BEST ARROWS THAT I HAVE EVER SHOT, AND I HAVE SHOT MANY.

Guest 2500HD
Re: Im done with the Axis As i mentioned I have tried them and they either did not hold up or flew like crap out of my set up. i will look into the GT next time I need arrows though. these same six arrows have lasted all last year and hunting season though! mitrrophybowhunter
Re: Im done with the Axis I am sticking with my Gold Tips....I love these things a straightness of +- 0.003 and 60 a dozen
VTbowman
Re: Im done with the Axis GT's XT5575 are about as good as there is for hunting situations and a decent compound bow. Tough and reliable. About the only things that will break them is direct hits to rock and stone. Just try to avoid those and your set...
