Texan_Til_I_Die
It has just been released that Senator Ted Kennedy's recent seizure was caused by a malignant brain tumor. While I totally disagree with his policies and politics, I still think he and his family deserve our prayers.

aksheephuntress
...Prayers for Ted Kennedy...regardless of his political views that differ than mine... -I also cannot judge him for his past ,no matter how bad his choices or actions... -This is not for me to pass judgement...I have sinned greatly, as well. I can only send prayers and compassion, especially in a situation like this, having to do with someone's ill health, or a tragic event afflicting them(whoever it may be..)...we never know what might befall us , today or tomorrow... stevebeilgard
i said some prayers for teddy when i first heard earlier in the day. and i'll continue to pray for him and his family. while i think i know what he did, i'll leave the details between him and the lord, and i'll leave the judgment totally to the lord. he was a dedicated, if not totally wrong, public servant. johnf
He's lived a rough life of at least heavy alcohol consumption. Surprised he hasn't died of liver failure already. As for his service to his country, there are thousands of janitors, trash collectors and RNA's out there that have done a lot more to make life better here for us than Ted Kennedy. They just don't make it on tv for what they do. I'm sure there are some children up in Mass that love Ted. For them I am sorry.
wtnhunt
Certainly do not agree with his politics, but would not wish cancer or a brain tumor on anyone, really about all I have to say on this topic.

rodngun
Well that just made me feel warm and fuzzy all over.God is dealing with him now.Whatever day his time comes,we should throw him in the back of a truck ,drive him to the nearest BRIDGE and throw him off !!Its a shame he couldnt have choked on his silver spoon a long time ago.I am a life long republican but if I had the choice,I would of rather been able to keep JFK on earth and let the other one drown. slugshooter
Ted Kennedy had his faults just like the rest of us, the only difference is, our faults are not on display for the world to see. Whether or not what happened in Chappaquiddick was an accident or murder, none of us truly know what happened because none of us were there. We are not judge or jury for this man on earth or in the afterlife. God will judge Kennedy for his mistakes in life. As for me, when that time comes, I will thank him for his service to the country, and continue to respect him for the position he held. Nice to see that we can set aside political differences and have compassion for a fellow American and human being. I'm glad that the Lord doesn't treat us this way. So to those who think along the lines of the above quotes, what about Ronald Regan and Charlton Heston and the terrible sickness they and their families endured? slugshooter
One of the best comments in this room ever, IMHO. I can remember back in 2004 when it was announced that Elizabeth Edwards had cancer. I started a thread and asked for all to put aside political differences and wish this woman well in her fight against cancer. I took a lot of heat for that because I was assured that noone would say anything negative because while they may not have agreed with her politically, they wouldn't wish anything bad against her in her fight against cancer. The comments that EKYHunter highlighted are the exact reason why I made that comment back then and why I still feel the same way. I may not like George W. Bush or his policies or politics, but if the man came down with a life threatening illness, I would wish him well and pray for him. My Grandmother wasted away to nothing in two short years and died of cancer in a very painful way...and she was a Godly woman who never harmed a soul...if only those people we do not agree with are supposed to die from nasty diseases...then why do the good people among us still get them? Nut
My Dad would have been 71 years old today if he had lived . He died from a brain tumor back in September 06. Many prayed for him and my family at that time which I still am thankful for. I also wonder if they would have prayed if they had known he was a lifelong Democratic voter. LifeNRA
So to those who think along the lines of the above quotes, what about Ronald Regan and Charlton Heston and the terrible sickness they and their families endured? Ok, since you want to know! They both were in favor of owning guns and hunting! Mr. Heston was the PRESIDENT OF THE NRA FOR MANY YEARS! Yes, I have much sympathy for their families for what they went through. I feel for them, deeply! Sorry, but I can not, and will not have the same sympathy for ted. We didn't have 30 years of this man (ted kennedy), trying to take away our rights of owning and using guns for hunting and self protection! Just like most of the democrats that are in office are in favor of! It took bill clinton's gun ban many years ago for me to get off my butt and start doing something about it. Since then I made sure I was a LIFE MEMBER of the NRA! ted even on his death bed would still ban your guns if he had the chance! Once a snake, always a snake! wtnhunt
If this is to be a prayer request thread maybe it would be better served moved to the religion room. Lets remember here that we all have differing opinions, just because someone does not offer their thoughts and prayers or does not say that they do, does not mean they have ill wishes towards a person/persons. With that said with posting a topic like this especially in a political room, where civil debate is welcome, it is to be expected to have opinions that are not the same as yours come up, and that does not make them wrong or right, that just makes them different. This thread needs to stay on track about Ted Kennedy and on the initial posting, his surgery from the reports I am hearing was a success.
