Re: accident in archery class!!!

I have to agree with the rest of the adults here. There is nothing funny about an incident like that. Safety is nothing to joke about or take lightly.

The instructor should have reamed the 2 individuals involved. Aparently they were never taught the safety rules of handling lethal weapons. I also agree that the instructor should be removed from that position immediately.

Re: accident in archery class!!!

why is every one saying fire the teacher

that teacher could have preached his head off to that kid every day you dont know you were not there

how many of you practiced driving to get your license

and wrecked in your first year

how many have been in the snow cutting donuts in a parking lot

its the same thing

dont blame the teacher for the kids stupidity

The instructor is ultimately responsible for the class. I am a range safety officer for my gun club. We are responsible for making sure the shooters practice safety first. There are no ands, ifs, or buts, when it comes to safety. If that instructor had to preach his head off to the student, that student should not have been alowed to shoot or handle a weapon. Its pretty simple.

Your "doing donuts in the snow covered parking lot" is different unless the idiot is doing it with other cars there and people walking around. Practicing in an empty lot is a great way to learn what will happen on the road. It is prepping the driver with the necessary knowledge on how the vehicle will react when they loose traction.

Re: accident in archery class!!!

It's amazing how many people still look at a bow and arrow as a toy and have so little respect for the potential danger involved. Apparently there are even archery instructors who fail to have the proper respect for the the weapon too.
