wtnhunt
Anyone seen these yet? Always been a fan of bolt guns for deer hunting myself, but guess for those who like semi auto's these might be a consideration. I know there are uppers and some manufacturers have been selling complete guns in .308 and other popular hunting calibers for a while, thought this was kind of interesting though http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/centerfire_rifles/model_r-25.asp. Looking at the specs, kind of wonder what kind of accuracy these guns will have.

Hoosierbuck
The platform is very capable of accuracy rivaling a top end bolt rifle. I am waiting on my new DPMS coyote rifle to be assembled. Hard to believe until you try it. Unless you have the bankroll to buy one, it's really best not to shoot one. HB
wtnhunt
I am waiting on my new DPMS coyote rifle to be assembled. Hard to believe until you try it. Unless you have the bankroll to buy one, it's really best not to shoot one. HB You will have to post some pics when you get it Chris. I had looked at a dpms when I was trying to figure out which varmint rifle I wanted last year, decided on the rock river varmint and I have been pretty happy with it, pretty accurate rifle. Would be kind of interested in seeing if remington offers any kind of spec on accuracy. I know rr guarantees the varmint model in .223 wylde to shoot 3/4 moa @ 100 yards. The .308 version of the varmint I believe is a 1 inch moa @ 100 yards. If I am not mistaken dpms also offers similar .243 and .308 versions of their AR's. Hoosierbuck
They have several calibers from which to choose, you are correct, including a .260 and I think 6.8mm (a stubby .270). You can check out their web site for the details...
Rem308
I REALLY like the looks of that R-25. When they released the R-15 I really liked it, and I'm glad to see Remington getting into that platform. Kind of expensive for me, though I am always saying I'd like to have one. I hadn't seen this yet, thanks for posting.
TexasDeerHunter
The Remington and DPMS are basically the same rifle, they are both owned by the same company, the Rem might even be manufactured at the DPMS factory. Stag arms has a well built rifle that shoots 1/2 groups for alot less money, check them out.
Hoosierbuck
I think you mean the Remmy and Bushmaster? are owned by the same company. I could be wrong, but that is what I recall. Stag specializes in lefty models. Was unaware that they also had "normal" AR's in their line-up. HB
TexasDeerHunter
Stag produces right and left models, and a new varmiter for under a thousand bucks that shoots 1/2in groups. You may be right about Bushmaster and Remington , rather than DPMS. I like the DPMS and Stag alot better than the Bushmaster, they seem to have a better finish job.
