Eddie234
I have a question, everything I've seen or have been told is that different shot guns like different chokes with different shot. You need to pattern your gun with different chokes and different shot to see what works best. Right? In most of the turkey hunting video's each one uses the choke they make, do they just use their chokes even if it doesn't pattern that well? Do you think they my use a different brand choke and just say it's their brand?
Strut10
Outdoor TV shows are, simply put, interesting commercials paid for by the brands who buy advertising space. If Hunter Specialties puts a turkey hunting show on the air, you can darned well bet they'll be using H.S. Undertaker choke tubes. It's the sale of those tubes that partially pays for the show. So they will be promoting those tubes. I'd bet my paycheck this Friday that the guns would shoot better with a Kick's or Comp-N-Choke tube. But that ain't what's paying the bills. birdhunter39
in 2007 i bought a winchester 1200, 16 ga with a full choke barrel , i did all right for close shots on pheasants but the longer shots were a little more diffuclt , i ended up buying a poly choke ( a barrel with full , imp, x turkey full , choke ) just by twisting the end of the barrel . i now use improve choke for all my pheasant hunting , using fiocchi shells . to me seems to work great . try different chokes , shells , to see what work great for you . PA_RIDGE_RUNNER
If it aint comp-n-choke it aint choked. I have a win 1300 that came with a win xxfull turkey choke and got what I thought was a pretty good pattern till I put that comp-n-choke on and got the pattern I got with the win choke at 30 yds except I was shooting at 50 yds. It does shoot so tight at close range (20 yds and under) that I must use sights or chances are high I will miss. This is strictly my turkey gun. lil hunter
Even if they do stick with just one choke, there are enough different turkey loads on the market now that they can generally find one that works pretty well with the choke.
