MUDRUNNER
I went up to check my spring planted clover/chicory plot on Saturday.I ended up going ahead and giving it its first mowing. It seems to be coming in pretty darn good. There are some weeds and grass in it,but overall looks pretty good for my first perennial plot. That was after I mowed. If I get a chance I would like to spray it with some poast in a few weeks. When is a good time to fertilize this mix? One more pic with my little helper. dogdoc
looks great. Did you fertilize when you planted? If so I probably wouldn't fertilize again until a couple weeks before bow season to get it tasting REALLY good.
wtnhunt
Looks good. Normally fertilize our perennial plots in the spring here after the first time I mow, however this year we have had so much rain, the plots have stayed pretty lush and I have not fertilized them yet. Booner164
What type of seed did you plant? Mine has gotten so much rain it seems to be slow to come up and grow.
MUDRUNNER
Welcome to the forums Booner! I planted Evolved Habitats Pro Vide clover/chicory, and added a pound of Biologic chicory to it.This spot is about 3/8 of an acre.Mine was pretty slow to come up too.At three weeks it was maybee 1", but by about week seven it grew into what's in the pictures above. I know what you mean about the little helpers EastALhunter. My daughter is 4,and everytime I make a trip up to the farm she has to come with.I'm going to try and take her with me for muzzleloader season this year.
