Was wondering if anyone ever tried the Sleep MD stuff...if it worked?

It's a natural sleep aid thing mom got for me because when I got to week 1 of staff training in the Adirondacks...sleep deprivation is my middle name the first couple days...I do not sleep very well in new places and when people come in the cabin from the bar when you are traying to sleep, well.....:rolleyes:

She had this other natural thing that was melatonin....it kept me awake....go figure....

If only I could be one of those people that can go to sleep as soon as the head hits the pillow....I'm fine at home, but new places....ugh

Just bought another box of it for my wife about 30 minutes ago. She say's it is better than Tylenol pm. She has a hard time sleeping and it helps her quite a bit. You might want to try it ahead of time when you don't have to get up early the next morning, just in case.

I have to agree with Steve on his remedy.

Don't think I have ever heard of it Ruth. Have a lot of trouble sleeping anywhere away from home too.

I suffer from bouts of insomnia too. I've always been jealous of people that can seemingly doze off on a whim too.

I take a benadryl from time to time, helps a lot.

Same here. Benedryl does help me with sleep some too.

Start a workout routine...If you do intense cardio everyday you'll sleep better I promise! I'm out as soon as I hit the pillow, but if I don't work out I toss and turn all night.

Does the exact opposite for me. I've been consistently jogging 10 miles a week for 3 months now. If I run too close to bed time, forget it, I'm wired.

Never heard of that stuff. I'm not a drinker either but if I ever needed something that would knock me out..........just a couple of wine coolers would do the trick. Thankfully I don't need to do that. I don't like to encourage drinking.

I was haveing trouble sleeping a while back,I thought it was my swing shift at work but it wasnt.I started cutting back on the time I sit and play my PS3 and started sleeping more.I recamend looking at your schedual and seeing if anything causes over excitement or unneeded stress and try to change the ones that keep you up thinking and wont allow you to wind down before sleep time.Good luck.

Ive got a cardio exercise that I do at every other day. You can do it walking, running, swimming or cycling. Me I do it cycling on the porch so I can watch my daughter at the same time. You start off slow cycling for 3 minutes then cycle hard 30 seconds, slow 1 minute, hard 45 seconds, slow 1 minute, hard 60 seconds, slow 1 minute, hard 90 seconds, slow 1 minute, hard 60 seconds, slow 1 minute, hard 45 seconds, slow 1 minute, hard 30 seconds, slow 3 minutes. It will really work your cardio and burn calories long after youve finished. Its called the pyramid burn. I sleep pretty good after its done but I generally do it around 6pm then go to bed at 9 or whenever I can get my daughter to sleep.

....Oh, dear....:rolleyes::o:D

....Well, since you ASKED...:o:)

....Actually, in this case, I think an enema might keep you awake...(you, know...due to the inevitable-how should I put it..."aftershocks"....:o;))...although, an enema once a week will do wonders....:D

-Try an herbal tea of Chamomile, Hops, and Valerian...

-and give the Melatonin another chance...just take once a day, in the morning...give your system a chance to adjust and regulate...

-I'll have to agree with the exercise suggestions, and the glass of vino...:);)

-Also, breathing exercises, stretching, and prayer can help you go to sleep....

-An added thought...everyone knows that drinking alcohol and taking anything with IBUPROFIN in it, will screw up your liver...-right?...either are fine, just can't be taken together....just an important thought...

-I hope you can get some quality sleep,Ruth!

I have not been able to sleep for years, I just got a sleep study done and they told me on average I stop breathing 13 times in an hour, so it looks like they are going to try me on a machine and see how that works. If you can't sleep to begin with you ought to try and sleep with 25 or so wires pasted to your body for the sleep study :D I am hoping after all this that I can finally sleep again!!

I've had trouble the last couple of nights, lying there until 2-3am. could account for a number of things that I've changed this week... change of diet, hit the weights and ran a couple miles each day, also haven't had a cigarette in 3 days.. trying to quit. I've been tired all day but seems when I go to lay down at night, I just can't sleep. Hopefully tonight is a little different.

50mg of Benadryl. ;)

Or you can try the chamomile enema, your choice.
