Turkeygirl
So Saturday is the last hoorah for us NYers. It's suppose to be rainy, so I'm going to put on my rain suit and set-up in a field on the state land. I found it last weekend...it's below the ridge where I got my gobbler and the other gobbler was and where the birds like to roost from the sign I've seen....it's also bordered by the woods where I've found alot of turkey sign in down in and being one of the few if not only field on this hillside...I'm thinking I should stick it out in this field if it's raining. I was wondering if I should put my hen and jake decoy out or just the hen decoy? Not sure what mood the gobblers are in late in the season.... pointing_dogs_rule
Late season I use "lots" of hen decoys. Up to 8 on one occasion. Be careful of call shy birds. Good luck in the rain Good luck to all the dog
HuntnMa
i personally wouldnt use a decoy now......just some clucking and purring , scratching..... if you do use a decoy, have it set off to the side, not right in the open....JMO
Turkeygirl
Thanks friends. I guess I'll just take my hen decoy and set it in the field towards the edge somewhere...
