IASTClone
Ok, I have finally decided to spend the money and buy the new rifle. I have settled on a Kimber Montana. I have pretty much made up my mind on the 300WSM. What I am wondering is opinions on the following caliber choices vs the 300WSM. 7mm WSM 325 WSM Will hunt primarily white tail and mule deer in NW Kansas at ranges of 100-300 yards, but also elk, bear, etc. I realize that all 3 will do the job, just looking at pros/cons of each. Thanks for the help.
uncle john
I have three friends who live in Idaho that I have hunted elk with in the Selway. They each have the Montana in 325, and have sucessfully taken elk with them. They are light, very accurate and reliable. Bullet selection is the thing. They did have some problems the first year anchoring bulls with the 200 gr Nosler partition. They switched to the Accubond and did better. I can't say for sure it was the bullet's fault, but my limited experience on elk says bigger and heavier is a lot better, and the 325 gives the best selection of heavies. aksheephuntress
... Yes, I would opt for the .325 WSM, as well... -Those Kimbers are nice!
