elnor
I was drawn for my first ever elk hunt. I'll be after a cow in Kentucky's Elk Restoration Zone this fall. I now need to pick first, second, and third choices for Elk Hunt Units (EHUs) by July 8th, but won't have a chance to put boots-on-ground until later this summer after the EHU assignments are made. If anyone here's hunted in eastern Kentucky and can make recommendations for one or more EHUs with good elk numbers and preferably public access, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any assistance!
silvertip_co
I dont know specifics but I have seen numerous programs about KY elk project and its really really successful. Even more successful than PA's project. Good luck on your hunt.
elnor
Thanks, I've read good things about their program too. Since my last post, I've been in touch with the Editor of Kentucky Afield, the magazine put out by the KY Fish & Wildlife. He's given me contact info for one of their elk biologists, so hopefully I can get a good rundown of the situation.
