wtnhunt
I know guys with 7 foot pythons and boas. They eat 1 rat every week or two. How many rodents do you really think those little dudes are gonna control?? LOL. Ain't that the truth.
Leo
Pretty sure it is indeed a diamondback watersnake. Snake kill happy folks beware. In several states these are protected!
JimPic
I really don't like snakes but I hate to see people kill them just for the sake of them being a snake. They're awesome predators that definitely have a place in the scheme of things and won't bother anybody if left alone
RangerClay
Or it could be a diamondback water snake, but I don't know what one of those would be doing in someone's yard? yep! sure looks like it to me!! Not the tan circles underneath where the black stripes cross on the back.
birdhunter39
fry it up , the skin would make a nice belt . the head would make a nice mount in any den or office
backwoods07
That my friend, is a non venomous diamond backed watersnake. It's harmless. I'm guessing there is some sort of pond or river around your buddy's house? Good luck getting rid of them. I suggest doing it before they spawn at the end of the summer. BearClaw
I'd check with local Game Warden or whatever you have in your state. I don't like snakes! I think I'd have heart palpitations if I came home and found that on my porch!
