Strut10
Finally got a chance to snap a couple of (poor) photos of the newest addition to my OTPG stable. The newest mudhole stomper is a Winchester Model 70 in (for the time being) .300 Weatherby Mag. It actually has a pretty nice piece of wood on it (pics don't really flatter it) for a standard grade Winchester. It also came with a Swift 4x12 AO scope. That'll probably end up on one of the 5mm rimfires. I believe I'll get a set of dies and some brass and see how it shoots in .300 Wby trim. Finances being what they are..........some brass and dies are a lot closer on the horizon than a trip to the smith for caliber change. That will come. It's just not gonna be tomorrow. Strut10
Classy rifle for a class guy. English translation: "The 'Rifleman's Rifle' in a mudhole stompin' chambering for a partially domesticated redneck". :D:D
uncle john
Using the word "partial" to describe a quantity that is so small that it defies measurement, is just not fair! Even the word "slightly" would be stretching things.

Strut10
why re chamber? .300 Wby is an awsome caliber. my Wby .300 Mag is a tack driver. Well........................with a 7-STW and two 300 Win Mags already in the safe, the 300 Wby is pretty redundant. I will shoot it as a 300 Wby to see if it has outstanding potential. But, chances are.........it's gonna end up as some configuration of massive, monstrous mudhole stomper.
camocop
just me, but i'd rather have a Wby than a Win mag
Strut10
just me, but i'd rather have a Wby than a Win mag Shoot an STW for a while. I'd get rid of both the 300's and keep it.

tped
Best of luck with it - regardless of whether you keep it as is or do the makeover - A guy just can't have enough big guns.
Strut10
A guy just can't have enough big guns. No truer words have ever been spoken. I just swapped the 4x12 Swift scope (that it came with) off for a 6x18 Burris I've had here forever. I picked up a new set of RCBS dies on the cheap and just had Midway send in some new Hornady brass (NICE looking brass!!) last week. Looks like I'm ready to throw some rounds togehter and check this new puppy out.
