BearClaw
Went out today with my hunting/fishing partner to fish for bass at the Yough Reservoir in PA. I had gone last year a few times but was unsuccessful. (I am a flyfisher at heart) I want to learn how to fish for bass and enjoy more of the outdoors. I had a couple on the line today but they got off but #3 was a keeper. It was an awesome feeling having him on the line! Got him on a spinner bait. I think I'm hooked on bass fishing now too! backwoods07
Congrats, that's a nice looking smallie. Remember to keep the pole high after you have a fish on. It's harder for them to throw the hook if there's tension in the line, and you might just bring a couple more to the boat.
Stickslinger
Did your buddy catch any?
BearClaw
Yes, he caught 10!! And some were pretty good size! He has taught me a lot about fishing and has a lot of patience when I throw the line out just a bit too far and end up in the trees or bushes by the shoreline. I always try to 'push the edge' and get the spinnerbait as close as I can to the shore or inside a little hole in the brush. Most of the time it works but not always so I still have a lot to learn! Here are some of his fish.
