Tominator
OK, my old Shimano took a dump on me this past week, and I'm going back to Kelleys Island on the 16th for the week. I'm looking to get a new reel, and suggestions on what you'd spool it with. This reel will be for walleye out on Lake Erie. I don't care for baitcasters, so this will be a spinning reel. Suggestions? I'd like to stay under $100.
ruttinbuc
I like the Okuma line of fishing reels. I have a pair of Epixor 30 bait runners and an Inspira 30. These reels have handled everything from stripers to steelheads. They would be perfect for walleyes. All are less than $100 I have replaced my newer Shimano's with these reels. LifeNRA
Symetre, I love this reel. It continues to preform year after year! The newer ones are the FI. http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/products/reels/spinning/Symetre_FI.html

RangerClay
Just like going to buy a new bow. Go to Gander Mountain and try them all. Get the one's that are light weight and feels the best in your hand. I look for smooth drags and high gear ratio's on my reels so I won't have to turn the handle a million times in order to reel in a fish. stevebeilgard
too bad you don't know about good baitcasters. use them right, and they are not only simple but much better. i've got a bunch of garcia 5500 & 6500. of course, if it's little fish you're after... lol
