Well we all know that celebrities and the Hollywood scene, all live in "their" own little world and under a different set of rules than us average joes. I wish they'd round up all those celebs, and send then to Uganda, and let them try and live without their pampered lifestyles they've become accustomed to, and the sorry media that eggs them on and helps fuel their huge egos. Now THAT my friends would be a Reality Show worth watching. I'd like to see the Baldwin brothers or the Hilton sisters, fighting a lioness over some meat scraps. LOL LOL LOL!!!

The problem here is not the media but all the people who pay attention to them. If you don't like celebrities then don't watch their movies, read a magazine, watch TV or buy a CD. Entertainers and Athletes are where they are today and filthy rich because of those of us who buy the merchandise, watch the movies and go to the events. For every celebrity who said they would leave America if Bush was elected, which, Barbra Streisand is the only one I know of who actually said that, well, losing Barbra would not hurt me in the least, but there are many celebrities who use their money and their status for good causes. A lot of funding for researching diseases and helping with cures would not exist if celebrities had not stepped up to the plate and made the issue known to the general public. Diseases take on a whole new priority if a celebrity who is known to millions is diagnosed with the disease and brings the issue to the forefront. (Michael J. Fox, Magic Johnson et al)

My issue with the Fahrenheit 9/11 brouhaha was the criticism from people who never saw the movie, had no intentions to see the movie and only wanted to badmouth someone about something they knew nothing about. Nothing irks me more than those who criticise something without knowing anything about it. If you had seen the movie, then either 1) Didn't believe it 2) hated it or 3) thought it was a bunch of lies, then I could understand and accept the criticism, but I can'tunderstand criticsing something without seeing it. Much like the person who doesn't vote but badmouths politicians, it makes no sense. I realize that Michael Moore has control over the film and may have exaggerated some things and maybe even have been wrong about some things. But there are many things in the movie that are true or haven't been disputed yet. If the whole movie is false, then there would be lawsuits going on right now from many sources. The problem is, for an ordinary citizen, to prove slander or libel, you have to prove that the other person is lying. For a public individual such as a politician, he or she must prove that they are honest.

The same can be said for most liberals badmouthing things they have no idea about like Freedom of opinion or choice. We have the freedom to condone or criticize based solely off beliefs. Some of us believe that Michael Moore is a total idiot full of lies and slander. These are “personal beliefs” and can be shared in a open forum at anytime. I saw a Jim Carey movie once and came to conclusion that I can’t stand to watch the man. An over-actor with less than desired theatrics – it’s a choice, an opinion, an observation and has nothing to do with being either right or wrong. The same can be said for Michael “hate-America” Moore. There are some that believe that he’s lied and won’t support him.

By his own account, Michael Moore has stated that he knew and saw the abuses at Abu Ghraib but held off telling anyone until after the movie was released a year later. Then has gone onto criticize Bush for allowing this to happen – shouldn’t Moore burden as much of the blame as anyone for knowing of it and allowing it to continue? Does this lead us to believe that Moore is an honest person or someone with an agenda? Again, it’s merely an observation and stated in an open forum and the reason being – we have the freedom to do so.
