Guest csod08
I'm just wondering what you guys think is the best flintlock muzzleloader out there right now?
turningcustomcalls
If you are going to use flintlock, get a kit and make it yourself. I always thought that would be neat. Good luck.
Hoosierbuck
It would be cool to build a kit gun like that. As far as commercial, I would look at the Lyman Great Plains rifle. The other options that come to mind are Thompson/Center and the Cabela's brand. They are all (by reputation, not personal experience) capable deer rifles, but they are each a little different, and you will know what you like when you see it. I do have a Cabela's brand caplock, and it shoots pretty darn well with patched round balls, and maxi balls. Good luck, and let us know what you decide. Hoyt03
Thompson center, personally though I'm way more accurate with my bow then I am with the flint. Just can't hold it still. One thing to know in the world of muzzleloading and it's called Thompson Center, cant go wrong
