U.s. Open....................

I watched the final 3 holes of the 18 hole playoff and the first sudden death hole. Good stuff.

I wonder how they chose #7 as the first sudden death hole? It can't be the number 1 handicap hole on the course. However they came up with it, it was a killer for Rocco. Dogleg right and he doesn't have a fade shot anywhere in his bag.

Great watching this whole thing unfold!

Both of them played and hung in there! Both of them made mistakes, but recovered! What a tourney!

I'm glad to see Tiger win it and get closer to beating Nicklaus's record!

Bad knee and all, he did it!

He sure has a cute little daughter! Surely takes after his wife! LOL!!!

I heard on the radio those holes are predetermined. Not sure on the criteria. But that hole sure did hurt Rocco.

yeah thats it, it's fixed  18 hole playoff, then sudden death, scripted perfectly

pretty sure it's because of the way the course is layed out. They want it so they can make a swing back toward to club house, 7th tee box is right by 18th green, and the 8th green leads right to the 18th tee box. Which is why they chose 7, 8, 18 as the playoff holes. ;) (they were chosen a head of time, not right when the 18 holes were done ;))

Was a great tourney and a great playoff, Rocco deserved that win, but like the always say, you can't give Tiger that one extra chance cause he'll make you pay. As much as I am glad Tiger won, I still feel bad for Rocco, played to good not to win.

I'd be very surprised if the 7th being the "sudden death" hole wasn't disclosed to the players prior to the Open starting.

To be honest, I don't think they could have chosen a hole that would have favored Rocco over Tiger. Maybe one of the par 3's?

Exactly.

They don't just pick what hole to play right there before Sudden Death. Each course has its own preselected holes to play in case something like yesterday happens. These are determined way before the tournament even starts.

Why is it when things dont go the way ppl want its always fixed lol ... Nascar fixed, NBA fixed, Hockey fixed, Baseball fixed, All these just in the last month here on the forums ...

Why can't it be that the players/teams are just good lol ... guess that would be the glass is half full theory and we wouldn't want to have that mentality.

I was thinking more along the lines of that clean, crisp $1.00 bill I have of yours in my glove box, you know the one that I won from you when I displayed my superior Cleveland Browns football knowledge in play calling tactics last fall? :D But I'll take the golf bet......you're on.

I don't know what you're talking about. I do recall saving you $20 in Illinois though (MARKY POST, MARKY POST, I'LL BET YOU $20 BUCKS.....):D

Well, I won the bet (was there ever a doubt), but got to hand it to Rocco, he did not fold like an envelope. I'll let you off the hook Tom, you buy the beer at the end of the round and we'll call it even.
