Hillbilly
When the Gobblers are really henned up and there's no way to get them out of the bunch, do some of you mimic the hens. I heard many hunters has used this tool of the trade. I have never tried it, but was wondering how others have faired with this.
MadHuntinPastor
Re: How many hunters use this strategy??? I've always heard to try and mimic the hens too. Only hunted turkey one year and don't have much personal info.

RyanH
Re: How many hunters use this strategy??? What I always do if i have not gotten the bird to come! I will leave the area! Come back in a ahour or so when the hens get bedded down! Then that gobbler will come running! But if I cant leave the area! I will try to call the hen to me! Copy off what she does! Tick her off! Then she will bring the gobbler with her!

13littleones
Re: How many hunters use this strategy??? I hunted a single bird 4 straight days once, those hens where one step ahead of me 3 staight days. On the 3rd day i finally heard both of the hens cluck on the roost. I beat those hens to the punch on the 4th day, he came right in ! Out of all the birds i have shot, that bird was my favorite all time hunt. Answer to your question, yes, every chance I get ! JimPic
Re: How many hunters use this strategy??? This is a great tactic to try!One Spring I was trying to get a tom in but he was henned up.So every time the hen started something,I started right in,cutting her off-i really wanted to get in her face. She apparently got pee'd off because she came right in looking for the "hen" along with the rest of the birds.Unfortunately, the tom had a few other hens around him so I couldn't get a shot off but it definitely got them close. Sometimes it's very effective but nothing works all the time.
