I sure hope that you, your famly and home are alright Bob http://www.thechronicleherald.ca/Front/1062148.html
Bob LeBlanc
Whewwww...WHAT A WEENIE ROAST !!! Yeah, we're all fine Lewis. Praise to all the brave men and women who fought this blaze...especially to the the provinces who sent over their waterbombers. Without them, their would have been a lot more personal property damage. If you ever wanna know what the belly of a waterbomber looks like...I can tell ya right down to the rivet !! The picture link from the the Chronicle Herald story...picture # 3...my house is to the left, between where that picture is taken and the smoke. Darn...one of my treestands probably got toasted ! I was on the way home from a golf tournament when I first saw the smoke. I stopped in the grocery store in Porter's Lake, and knowone knew there was a fire coming. It was pretty small...just light wisps of smoke...but by the time I made it to Myra Rd., it was coming like a freight train. The fire trucks had just set-up, but I knew they weren't gonna stop it there. The fire travelled a corridor of knocked down trees and tinder left over from Hurricane Juan. It was one of the biggest fears that those of us who knew had...that it would ever catch fire. When my son Matt got home, we went and took some pictures. I told him then that it wasn't going to stop until it reached the ocean. Darn...I probably lost one of my duck blinds too !! Matt saw a picture on 'Facebook' overlooking one of my 'mayfly' islands that I fish...he said the whole shoreline in behind it is ablaze. We're all fine...only 2 homes were lost. A lot of displaced evacuees are now allowed back home. It was a long, long weekend of worry for many. Bob

Bob LeBlanc
Well, the fire is 'contained'...not 'under control'...but it is contained. All evacuees are home. The wind for the past four days has been, pretty much, consistently out of the north. Today there is a slight shift to west-northwest. The fire crews have been focusing on the perimeter of the fire so they should be able to keep it to the existing lines. They're gonna let the core of the blaze burn itself out. Thanks to all for the wishes and concerns. Bob:)
