NS whitetail
How would you like to be out on the ocean sitting way up in the top of this spar ? ( see the guy up there ? ). These guys are getting rug up to go harpoon swordfish. You sit up the spar and look for the the swordfish when they come up to top water to sun themselves, you then steam up to them and throw the harpoon. Our boat with a fresh coat of paint, we just put her back in the water this morning. A close up pic of the Cape Light lighthouse.

OJR
I don't think you would get me up there! I did climb a pole that was on top of the steeple of the old country church one time! Never again!
texastrophies
Can you imagine what that would feel like in rough seas???? I think the deck hands would not let me go up there more than once, if you know what I mean. :D:D Nice pics
toddyboman
cool pics.... I would try it. Looks like fun.....but if it was a windy rough day at sea I may change my mind :D
total disaster
I have heard that the guy that goes to the very top has a inner tube that he fills with a can of air on rough days to make it easier on him then just beating around in metal ring
wtnhunt
Cool pics Lewis. Don't think that would be for me, however I might climb up there while the boat was docked.

sskybnd
looks like it would be a cool place to see from as long as the boat was in drydock, must take one heck of a thower to hit a fish from that high

If you look closely, you will see the black stand that is coming off of the white boat ( it's is over the blue boat and there is a man standing on it )

buckee
count me in.... im younger and dumber than steve b That's all it takes I had to shimmy out the stabilizer poles(when the polls were down and fishing) on a troller one time, in rough weather to fix the bowline pole. I still don't know how I did it, (with one hand) and would never try it at my age now. Most boats just hang the bowline or mainline right off the main poles, but the boat I was on had another pole protruding forward toward the bow, where the bowline hung from. It was situated about half way out the Main poles Notice the troller on the far right. She has those Bow-line poles, coming off the mains.
