MadHuntinPastor
A friend of mine shot his first black bear this year. A 250 pound male. He ended up getting a shoulder mount with the two front legs. The problem is this.....I saw the bear before he took it in and it looks much smaller now. The taxidermist said "I'll make it look huge". NOT!!! My friend is a pretty bummed that it looks smaller. Wondering what you guys think.......
fisherguy
Re: Bear Mount check at the sewed seams on the legs and any other seam. If there is extra hide bunched up at the seam he put it on too small a form. If there is none then i guess that is just how it looks minus the back half. fisherguy
Re: Bear Mount M.Magis the reason i said that is someone i know got a bear half mount that looked very very skinny after teh mounting. He took it to a new taxidermist and the guy had just put it on a form that was too small and sewn it with some bunched skin. THe seems looked a bit off, but when you parted the hair and felt with your fingers it was ridiculous. He took it to another taxidermist who did his best to fix it up and was disgusted with the other guys work.
MadHuntinPastor
Re: Bear Mount This mount even looks diff. in the head. I'll have to get a couple pics so you guys can see the difference. Originally the forhead was a big hump....now the mount has a flat head continuing on the same angle of the nose.
