Idaho_ Elk_ Huntr
How many here have purchased either a 500 or 460 S&W. How do you like them?? Are you shooting jacketed or cast bullets? I have purchased a couple and still havent had a chance to shoot them.
Leo
A friend has the 500 and my brother has the 460. For what it's worth. The 460 is a more flexible chambering.
bowana
I own the 460 and it is a deer hunting dream. I'm currently just shooting the factory 200 gr rounds. It is a very accurate round. I can truly shoot 200 yards. I would like to play around with the 300 cast bullets and 260 grain Nosler. I have owned the 500. Too much recoil with full house rounds. Not as well suited for hunting as the 460.
terry264
Just be real careful shooting those "hand cannons" where you grip them if using a two handed grip. Have pic's. a guy had posted on another site of 1/2 his left thumb from shooting a .460 two handed with his thumb close to the cyl. gap. The .460 operates under much higher pressures than most handguns so keep clear of the end of the cylinder! Just fyi.
