Strut10
Re: who makes their own decoys ??? I've made a few dozen plywood silhouettes. That's all I had when I started out. I can get either 9 or 13 dekes out of a sheet of 4X8, depending on which design I use. One design is more simplistic, without legs. The other design is pretty awesome. I paint them freehand with 5 colors of Wal-Mart's 88-cent spray paint. Drawback is.........they're a bit on the heavy side. I used to live beside a road. When I made dekes (always in late summer) I'd cut them out and stake them in my front yard to paint. It was always funny to see how many cars hit the brakes & backed up to figure out what the heck the geese were doing in my yard!!!!!
