Guest Colorado Bob
Sorry I've not been around lately----Looks like some good posts. It's hard to think about guns & hunting when your Dad is in intensive care. He had a cold & fell at home a couple weeks ago. My sisters took him to the hospital. They put him in the step-down unit & thought they had the virus under control. They then put in PT to build up his legs. I guess the virus came back & put him into intensive care. He's slipping away. My brother went & said he would reconize him & could say about 3 or 4 words---then his strength would drain away. I guess on Tuesday you could rub his hand & he would open his eyes. Yesterday---he would not even open his eys. Today the decision was made to put him in hospice & disconnect the tubes & wires. He was on a ventalator---3 hours on his own & then 1 on the machine. The Dr's have said he's in no pain which is good. I"m sure Mom is waiting for him at Heaven's Gate. He is 81. I went home to see him over Thanksgiving---that helps some. Last thing he said to me was " I love you"----- That was when he 1st went into the hospital. It's just so hard to say good-bye. It's hard to think of elk hunting or shooting when your heart is broken.
tedicast
Re: Sorry fellas Hunting, Shooting, and everything else for that matter, take a back seat where family is involved. I'm sorry to hear about your father, and Hope that everything works out for the best. My dad is close to that age. I tell him I love him every chance I get.
